Viele dieser Arten haben in der Vergangenheit stark unter der Verfolgung durch den Menschen gelitten. Heute stehen diese Tiere zwar unter Schutz, viele Arten sind aber weiterhin in ihrem Bestand gef\u00e4hrdet oder sogar vom Aussterben bedroht. Auch dies ist, direkt oder indirekt, auf menschliche Aktivit\u00e4ten, wie z.B. Fischerei, \u00d6lverschmutzung oder Tourismus, zur\u00fcckzuf\u00fchren. Ein umfassender Schutz der Tiere und ihrer Habitate kann aber nur gew\u00e4hrleistet werden, wenn man fundierte Kenntnisse \u00fcber die \u00f6kologischen Zusammenh\u00e4nge in der Antarktis besitzt. Unsere Forschung soll dazu beitragen, die Grundlagen f\u00fcr einen nachhaltigen Arten- und Habitatschutz zu schaffen. Die gewonnenen Erkenntnisse werden nicht nur in der wissenschaftlichen Fachliteratur und den diversen Medien publiziert (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/antarctic-research.de\/?page_id=103\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ver\u00f6ffentlichungen<\/a><span style=\"color: #333333;\">), sondern auch den verantwortlichen Regierungsstellen und Umweltschutzorganisationen zur Verf\u00fcgung gestellt (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/antarctic-research.de\/?page_id=113\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kooperationen<\/a><span style=\"color: #333333;\">).
